Hello, hello!
My name is Mimi and I am the owner and primary tutor at ShiftED Learning.
To date, I have visited over 20 countries across the globe. I love to spend time reading, watching baseball, speaking Spanish, and listening to music.
I am a Georgia certified educator. I graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (Pre-K - 5), with a concentration in ESOL. I also have a Specialist's degree in Elementary Education, with a Dyslexia endorsement.
I was a classroom teacher for seven years! I taught in the public school system in Georgia for three years. I taught in both Abu Dhabi, UAE and in Guatemala for two years respectively. I have experience teaching Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade. I currently teach elementary ESOL.
I love building relationships! It is one of the highlights of my career. I take pride in getting to know my students and their families so that I can better support them.

I partner with families to help children grow into confident, capable readers by using personalized, research based instruction that meets them where they are and takes them beyond.

The vision of Shifted Learning is to be a trusted literacy resource for families who need the support to thrive. I aim to create a culturally aware learning space where reading progress feels possible, parents feel empowered, and every child feels seen.
ShiftED Learning has been operating since 2021! It is a virtual tutoring company that serves
3rd - 5th grade multilingual students and more in literacy.
